Fun with Cut and Paste

For a few days now I've been meaning to publish another epic snarky post about eHarmony. Then I stumbled upon the blog of a guy writing from Iraq. Suddenly my life seems glorious, the preponderence of guys named Brian from New Jersey notwithstanding, and it seems really stupid and shallow to write a post making fun of people. So I was answering an Open Question (Stage 4) from one of my eHarmony matches, and decided to cut and paste the answer here, just in case any of you were considering dating me.

Describe your personal style.

I believe in always sending a thank-you note and the beauty of handwritten letters. I believe in paying your respects when some one dies. I believe in the well-timed use of profanity to add color to the story, but never within the ear shot of children. I believe that there's nothing attractive about being falling down sloppy drunk. I believe in the hostess gift; I believe in having something on hand to offer your guests when they drop by. I believe it is rude to go to the reception without going to the wedding ceremony. I believe in always knowing a few words of the local language. I believe in kissing all of my aunties and uncles whenever I enter and leave a party. I believe it's better to leave early than to overstay your welcome.

Don't worry, I'll get around to writing that bitchy eHarmony post soon.
