Trash Mob

Please note: that is not KJ and I in the above photo, but if everything goes according to plan, we will be getting t-shirts just like the ones you see here.

Good evening, Internet. Tonight I come to you with some very exciting news. I have joined my friend KJ's volunteer team for Hands On New York Day, sponsored by New York Cares. On April 12, 2008 we will be assigned to work on a service project somewhere in one of the five boroughs. Typical project sites include public schools, parks, playgrounds, homeless shelters and community centers. We will be hard at work from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm, then we will most likely retire to an alcoholic community center and volunteer to drink until we forget that we had to wake up at 8:00 am on a Saturday. Guess what? We're still looking for volunteers to join our team. You too can be a part of this magical day. To join Team Grow's Green Gotham, click here.

If you are unable to join us in this volunteer opportunity, perhaps because you live very far away (Connecticut), we will gladly take your money. It's true! I'll do the weeding and painting and you just write a check. Good deal, right? To make a donation click here. But seriously, we'd love to see you in your sweats and old sneakers on April 12th. If you have any questions, give me a holler.

I plan to join at the very last minute just when you think you don't have enough volunteers. Maximum hero points.

I'd say that's a fairly optimistic assesment of the situation.

I will join if this project is on Prince and Sullivan in Soho, that's the place that NEEDS IT MOST.
