A Very Cupcake Chicago

I'm back from a great trip to Chicago. I'm quite busy but I'll post a few photos because I know you're all eager to look at photos of strangers.

So, what did you do on Friday afternoon? Uh huh. Uh huh. [nods head] See, I'm just asking because I got to spend the afternoon at one of America's greatest ball parks while you were drooling on your keyboard at work. Suckers!

Here I am with PatriotDave. We are actually not very fond of each other, but assumed this cozy pose in order to conserve heat. It was about 40 degrees in the shade of the uppper deck and windy. Some marketing genius was giving away free Cubs blankets if you signed up for a new Visa card. We would have taken advantage of this offer to get the blanket, but sadly neither of us was clever enough to come up with a fake social security number.

Unfortunately in this photo you can neither read the score or get a sense of how much Cubs blue and white was gracing the stands. I had no Cubs gear to wear, so I stuck with the traditional New York "don't fuck with me colors" of black, brown and gray. Of course, I was seated with two gay men wearing tastefully deconstructed jeans and black jackets. We were the least blue and white people in Wrigley Stadium. On our way to our seats, PatriotDave heard some guy say, "What do you call a pilot's wife?" however we didn't stick around the hear the punchline. About six hours later we figured out that the punchline was probably "his cockpit." If we had figured this out 6 hours sooner, I probably would have punched that guy in the face.

It was a great day at the ballpark: we got to see the Cubs beat the Brewers and I got to eat a ballpark frank. We did not catch any fly balls, but I may have caught hepatitis from a pigeon.

Your broach looks super cute. Did you make it?

No, but I did buy it on Etsy from a woman who did hand knit and felt it. If you're interested I'll give you the seller's name. I think it was only 8 bucks. I love supporting hand crafters.

I would like that. I like supporting crafters too, and something else I enjoy is having friends who are crafters! Thanks again for the super cute hat! Also, do these pictures show your new haircut? Because your hair looks really good.

Actually, I had to cover the arm wraped around cupcake in that photo with delousing powder as soon as we got back from the game. Never trust a chick from New York. Thats what we say in the mid-west anyways. Where are you at?
