43 Huhs?

Dawnzzle invited me to join 43 People, which I did even though I have no idea what it is. Seriously, what is this? One one hand, it's kind of hokey, on the hand it's wicked addictive. And then of course there's 43 Things and 43 Places and who knows what else! Seriously, what is this?

Anyway, I'm flattered that you would like to meet me, Dawnzzle, but I gotta tell you, you're not missing much. Look at the numbers. JoshedPotatoes lives one neighborhood over from me and even he doesn't want to meet me. I am especially unexciting now, when I have essentially been reduced to a giant ball of phlegm with some red hair and lint clinging on. I am gross. Anyway, if I'm ever in Vanncouver, I'll activate my cupcake signal. Follow the beam of light until you find ... mediocrity. Remember, you can't spell "mediocrity" without "me".

I don't get it either. Are you just suppossed to write a comment about the celebrity you most want to meet? What is the signifigance of the number 43? Is there any weay to tell who wants to meet you? Is it just the 'missed connections' section of your local claddifieds? I am an idiot. Someone please explain.

First of all YAY! I made it into Cupcake's blog! *happydance*

43things/43places FAQ explains the whole 43 idea. The info can be found here: http://www.43things.com/about/view/faq#why-43-things

I personally am not overly interested in meeting "celebrities" so much as in meeting normal people that I think are extrordinary. You can add celebrities to your 43people list or you can add other members of 43people/43things/43places or any other person that exists in the world.

I don't know if you can see if other people want to meet you or not, but I'm guessing you can. It would make sense.

Cupcake, you live in Brooklyn, that automatically makes me want to met you. Plus, you make me laugh, so much so that I make sure to not consume beverages while I go through my daily blog reading ritual, you know, just in case.

So there. And stuff.

Oh and more reasons why you rule, Cupcake:

- You knit
- You make cupcakes!! CUPCAKES! Much ruling there.
- you work in Manhattan (Manhattan only exists in stories and movies in my current world. It's instantly cool because of that)
- CUPCAKES!!!

Alrighty, enough with fangirl mode.

See Cupcake? Plenty of people want to meet you, Canadian people even.
I can't meet you, remember world war III with China? It's just too risky. Besides then you'd be a real person rather than "cupcake" and that's just no good.

Josh, I remember the WWIII scenario; it was very convincing.

Dawnzzle, sometimes I too cannot believe I work in Manhattan, a place I only ever saw in Bette Midler movies as a child and never actually thought I would visit. But these moments are rare. When I encounter another person having such a moment, staring unbelievingly up at the skyscrapers, I mow them down, because I'm walking here, and I'm already late for work, you know? Essentially, I have become a New Yorker.

If you are ever in Brooklyn you can meet me and I will feed you cupcakes, or maybe just cake, depending on the day.
