There's a Change in My Life II

Once upon a time, at Happy Hour, I was complaining about how the lightbulb in the overhead light in my bedroom blew out and I didn't know how I was going to change it. You see, I am a very short person and although I have a step-ladder that I make use of nearly every day, sometimes it is just not enough. Fortunately KateBklyn volunteered her roommate JustJohnny to come to my apratment and change the bulb because apparently they have the kind of relationship where KateBklyn pimps out Johnny to do light home repairs around the neighborhood. We decided we would all have brunch last Saturday then they would visit my place for the much anticipated changing of the light bulb. I was really excited! Then we remembered that we are all broke, so the new plan was to come over, change the bulb then go hang out at KateBkln and JustJohnny's place and make scrambled eggs or something.

I had never hung out with Kate and Johnny outside of Happy Hour but we were off to a very good start because they announced that they would be showing up in sweatpants and that there was no need to wear anything other than elastic waist pants. I therefore felt okay about not brushing my hair or putting on make-up. It was great. It turns out, Kate was able to change the light bulb herself by standing on my bed because she towers over me at like, a whopping 5'5". Then we went back to Chez Nouveux Voisins to lay around.

When I got to Kate and Johnny's place, I was amazed at how beautiful it was, very clean, well-organized and nicely decorated. Also, they own things like furniture and microwaves, you know, things I only dream about. After we had breakfast and watched Big Business, we were watching several lame hours of HGTV when I started opining about how my apartment needed a make-over. I had been kinda down on my place since Thanksgiving when I saw my brother's big new apartment and Queenie's lovely little house. Why couldn't I live in a nice place with space to walk and turn around and stuff? I knew my place had potential, but I have a really bad eye when it comes to arranging furniture and making the best use of space. Kate and Johnny were excited by the idea of a new project and wanted to help make-over my apartment! They offered to come back to my place even though temperatures in my little apartment are always whacked out to the extreme because of my steam heat radiator and when we left earlier that morning, my thermometer was telling me it was 84 degrees in the Muffin Tin. To combat the heat and potential chafing, Johnny decided not to wear underwear.

to be continued ...

You should have had them check the smoke detector in your apartment while they were there. It might be hard to reach too. We have a light in our bathroom that keeps buring out, and ants in the bathtub...
