The Domestication of N

The story I am about to tell you is shocking, but I assure you that all of the lurid details are true.

Last night after returning from the cinema, I went to the market where I purchased things such as bread, peanut butter and yogurt. Then I went home and decided to make my lunch to bring to work for the next day. I made a peanut butter sandwhich and put it in a ziploc bag. Then, I filled another ziploc bag with Oatmeal Squares (breakfast).

Here's where the story takes a sordid turn: I parceled out the remaining Oatmeal Squares into individualized serving sized baggies, so I would save myself time in the morning [Verlobte Beta: see Blow Dry Hair Resolution] and recycled the cardboard box. Here's the cincher: I then washed the knife and cutting board I used to make the peanutbutter sandwich. Thank you and goodnight.

You may think this is small potatoes for a person who technically qualified as an adult six years ago, but I assure you, this is a giant leap forward for Cupcake-kind.

Maia, how sad was it that I was the deadbeat in that apartment? Who knew that the countertop sponge should never be used on the dishes?

I forgot about the sponge! Not a rule I carried over into life outside of Vienna. (nothing but love for you Anne). Dishwasher duty may not have been your strong point, but you did make damn good bread.
