Good News/Bad News

The Bad: It's official. Keebler Magic Middles were discontinued. I hadn't seen them in years, but I was still holding out hope. All good things must come to an end.

The Good: For sometime I had been looking for the German language lyrics to the song "Total Eclipse of the Heart" (Totaler Finsternis)*, which was used in a musical called Tanz des Vampires that I'm certain was horrible. Anyway, these lyrics did not exist on the Internet, so far as I could find them. Today some nice Sweedish dude emailed me the complete lyrics in German. Wow. First Ikea, now this. Rock on, Swedes.

*Oh, what? You want to know why I felt compelled to search the globe for the German lyrics to "Total Eclipse of the Heart"? Well, um, you know, who knows when you might find yourself three sheets to the wind in a Muenster karaoke bar, am I right?

Before you start a panicked run on Cheez-Its, not all Cheez-Its have been discontinued, only some of the less-successful Cheez-It spinoffs, like the Nacho Cheez-It and the Cheez-It Peanut Butter sandwhiches.

Ah! I have the whole CD to Tanz der Vampire. I burned it from my host sister 5 years ago. And i have this very strange attachment to the music. You have to hear the song Knoblauch if you haven't already. Also, none of my German friends new the orig. song "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and I thought it was hysterical that they only new the melody via this musical.

Verlobte Beta, is that you? I can't believe you have the whole CD! I stumbled upon this by accident when somebody played me the song, I thought it was a literal translation of "Total Eclipse"; didn't realize it had a whole vampire context. How bitchin' would it be for us to stich n' bitch and listen to Tanz der Vampire. Reconsider moving to Brooklyn? Erich can apply to med school. Again.
