We here in the Cupcake Mafia are big fans of Media Bistro. The site/brand/community was founded by Smith College graduate, Laurel Touby. If you're a MB member, you'll recognize Touby's name from the e-invites to cool-sounding parties for media types; unfortunately later in the invite Touby clarifies that these events are for Honest-to-God Media Professionals only and that gawkers, job-seekers and wannabes are not welcome. Who is left, I ask you?
Anyway, Media Bistro hosts Garrett's blog, and in fact they even pay him to write it (how can I get me a piece of that sweet action?). I attended a great seminar of theirs on Publishing for Children, and Caroline is currently involved in a fiction workshop with them. And let's face it, we're no stranger to the Personal Ads they host either (see Angry Cupcake to learn how Caroline violated our mutual pledge to recycle bad dates to each other). In addition to offering workshops and eClasses on writing, they also teach things like Web Design, PhotoShop, Quark, Copy Editing, etc.. I recommend them, so link to the Class Schedule here.
